MDI Distribution Inc. was established in 1984 in Dallas, Texas. Through the years, MDI Distribution has distributed such labels as Tommy Boy, TVT, Warlock, K-Tel and Ichiban, just to mention a few. MDI Distribution distributes audio, video and DVD product.

During this time, MDI Distribution has seen a lot of changes and has been able to evolve and grow. MDI Distribution is a full service National Distribution Company serving all national and regional accounts. We also have a knowledgeable field sales staff, as well as a Marketing and Label Relations department. MDI Distribution was one of the first independent distribution companies to be EDI capable almost fifteen years ago.

The key to our longevity has been know-how, knowledge and relationships both with the Independent Labels as well as with the Retail community. MDI Distribution is highly visible in the industry in many ways, including the Board of AFIM (Association For Independent Music), Board of AARC (division of RIAA Recording Industry Association of America) for over 10 years, as well as the Convention Committee and Advisory Committee for NARM (National Association Recording Merchandisers).

There has never been a better time to be an independent. Currently independents represent about 20% of the market share in the industry. MDI Distribution as a company knows and understands the independent music industry as a whole. We have a phenomenal catalog of 2009 releases and we are very excited.
